If first signs of wound abscess become evident you should remove purulence and dead tissues from the wound with abacterical tampons as well as shave clean damaged area: 3-5 cm around it. Damaged area is to be carefully washed with 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide mixed in equal proportion with solution of Nitrofural. The procedure should be repeated two times, after that you need to fill the wound with tampons soaked in iodated spirit in ratio 1: 1000. If there is a serious damage you are recommended bringing your doggie to animal doctor who will be able to carefully examine him. After rendering local assistance you should take the dog to veterinary clinic where highly experienced specialist will have possibility to operate your beloved animal. It is also worth mentioning that the wounds penetrating chest and abdominal space are too hard and must be treated during first 2 hours otherwise the dog is likely to die. If Cane Corso dog is lame but limbs look as if they were not damaged you should check your dog for disarticulation, sprains or joint contusion. The main symptom of sprain is unwillingness of the dog to tread on traumatized paw.
